We want you to be delighted!

Our resort sits on acres of lovely wooded land right on Grand Portage Lake in Mercer Wisconsin.  We have five large, modern, and very attractive housekeeping cabins set wide apart on 200' of clean sandy frontage.  Three cabins overlook the water.  All are well equipped and squeaky clean.

We are the closest resort to Mercer, yet we are nicely secluded and just a few minutes drive from Hwy 51.  It is only about a 10 minute walk from the resort to downtown Mercer.

Each cabin is set up for housekeeping with dishes, pots and pans, utensils, toaster, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker and a microwave.

Both of the three bedroom cabins, and a two bedroom cabin (Hummingbird - cabin 5) have one bedroom with two twin beds.  All other bedrooms have full sized beds with very good mattresses, blankets, pillows and linens.  Personal towels are not included, but they're available for a very modest fee.

All cabins also have a toilet with a shower, Visualite gas heat, cable TV plus an AM/FM radio, a ceiling fan, a large/attached screened-in porch, picnic table, charcoal grill and an Alumacraft Boat (at a pier site).  We rent small outboard motors.

We have lots of chairs and chaises, a fish cleaning house, swing set, sand box, and two camp fire sites with firewood available free of charge.  Cribs and highchairs are also free of charge.

In a nutshell, no resort in the area (at any price) gives more for less.  You'll get everything listed and much more.  We really do try to delight our guests because, of course, it brings them back.

Our Lake and the Mercer Area

Grand Portage is a beautiful medium sized, 150 acre, loon lake that is well stocked with fish and monitored for cleanliness by the DNR.  The lake is best known for big Musky and for Black Crappie, but it also has Large and Small mouth Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike, and other species of fish.  If you bring your own boat, the lake has a free public boat launch.

There are many other lakes, rivers, and streams only minutes away and over two hundred lakes in a twenty mile radius.

You are bound to enjoy the warm hospitality and unspoiled wilderness of our area.  Iron County is the only county in Wisconsin that borders on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and on Lake Superior.  We also have more lovely waterfalls than any other county.  Hiking, mushrooms/berries, canoeing, golf, water ski shows, and a wide variety of other attractions are available.

We have lots of nice restaurants, bars, and shops too, but best of all, we have the friendly folks and relaxed atmosphere that remains uniquely Northern Wisconsin.

If you ever get a craving for crowds it's less than 30 minutes to the pricey tourist bulge down south, or to the bright city lights and shopping centers further north.

Casino gambling at Lake of the Torches in Lac du Flambeau is only 20 minutes away.  Our location is ideal and just being up here is a genuine cure.
